Bio
I am a clinical psychologist, trauma survivor, and advocate for the mental health and rights of digital workers. My journey began when I worked as a Facebook content moderator, where I was constantly exposed to graphic and violent content. The emotional toll was devastating. I suffered panic attacks, insomnia, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. But I refused to stay silent.
Instead, I turned my pain into purpose. I founded the Digital and Mental Health Initiative to support content moderators and other digital workers facing psychological harm. I now serve as the Chairperson of the African Content Moderators Union (Nigeria Chapter) steering committee, where I fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, and trauma-informed mental health care.
My advocacy has taken me to global platforms, I’ve testified before the European Parliament, pushing for stronger protections for platform workers, and I’ve been honored among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI (2024) and BBC’s 100 Women.
Today, I’m pursuing my PhD, combining my clinical expertise and lived experience to challenge systemic injustice and design healing frameworks that prioritize human dignity. My mission is clear: no one should suffer in silence while keeping the internet safe.
