Bio
Dr. Dare Leke Idowu holds a PhD in Political Studies from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He was a 2023 awardee of the Next Generation in Social Sciences in Africa Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship Award from the Social Science Research Council, with funds provided by the Carnegie Foundation of New York, and a 2024 recipient of the British Academy Fellowship on Writing and Researching the Political Economy of Inequality in Africa. His research interests lie at the intersection of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and geopolitics, geoeconomics, diplomacy, social movements, and regional power politics. He has published articles in the South Africa Journal of International Affairs, Frontiers in Political Science, the Creative Industries Journal, the Round Table Journal, the Journal of Contemporary African Studies, and has contributed chapters to several books.
